What they do
BioMed Elements develops, manufactures and supplies biomaterials based on biocompatible and degradable biopolymers, for application areas such as wound management, medical aesthetics, orthopedics, tissue engineering and cosmetics. Its in-house R&D team processes natural biopolymers (e.g. gelatin, hyaluronic acid, collagen, chitosan, alginate) into functional end forms: sponges, sheets, powders, sprays and gels.
Its core competence is customising these biomaterials by modifying the biopolymer network structure, so that properties such as degradation time and absorption capacity can be tuned. A proprietary BioMed Core Technology produces uniform spherical submicron particles from various biopolymers.
BioMed-Elements B.V. is based at Energieweg in Nijmegen, with a USA office in Milwaukee. Sister company BioMed ENT (Milwaukee) markets ENT products such as EpiPatch, MyringoPatch, SeptoPatch and Epi-Stop Nasal Gel and is ISO 13485 certified.
